In a chat with Bangalore Times, actress Manvita Kamath discusses her various projects in both Kannada and Marathi, including a rare direct OTT release and an upcoming theatrical release. She reflects on her passion for acting across different mediums and the changing landscape of the film industry, emphasizing the broad reach and opportunities offered by OTT platforms. Manvita also highlights the importance of social media in shaping public perception and her approach to maintaining privacy in her personal life. She acknowledges the support of her husband and his family following their recent marriage and expresses excitement for her upcoming film releases. In the past, I used to focus on interviews because I was concerned about not having enough to share as news. Now, with the impact of social media on how people perceive me, I sometimes question if I should enhance my presence there. It's unfortunate that what is seen online often shapes people's beliefs, potentially overshadowing the hard work, dedication, and respect I have for my craft. These aspects may seem nonexistent to others because I don't always promote them prominently. Despite this, I remain determined not to be influenced by negativity. I deeply value the guidance of my mentors and the unwavering support of my good friends and husband, Arun, along with his family. My mother initially discouraged me from entering the film industry, but my husband and his family appreciate and celebrate my accomplishments. Reflecting on my past, I acknowledge my previous naivety, but over time, I have learned to set boundaries and avoid being taken advantage of. I have distanced myself from individuals who undermine my self-esteem, as my focus is on producing meaningful work and not allowing negativity to diminish my motivation.
